Privacy notice
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This notice explains how Academic Lane collects and uses personal data when you visit academiclane.com, request a quote or contact us. It follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Italian data protection law.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Academic Lane. For any privacy question or request, email support@academiclane.com.
What we collect
- Quote form: your name, email address, service, academic level, deadline, length, Telegram username if you give one, project details and the site language you used.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or Telegram, including files you share for your project.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) to run and secure the site. To stop spam, the form stores a one-way hashed version of your IP address for one hour.
- Payments: payments are handled by the provider you choose (bank, PayPal, Wise, Revolut, WeChat Pay or Alipay). We receive confirmation of payment, not your card details.
Why we use it
- To answer your request and prepare a quote: steps you ask for before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To deliver the work and handle revisions and payment: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To keep invoices and accounting records: our legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- To protect the site against spam and abuse: our legitimate interest in keeping it secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).
We do not use your data for advertising, we never sell it, and we make no automated decisions about you.
Who receives it
IONOS SE (Germany), which hosts our website and email as our data processor under a data processing agreement; Telegram, if you choose to contact us there; the payment provider you choose; our professional advisers, such as an accountant; and public authorities where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the EU
Our website and mailbox are hosted in the EU. If you contact us on Telegram or pay through a provider based outside the EU, that provider may process your data outside the EU under its own safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests that do not become a project: deleted within 12 months.
- Project files and messages: kept for 12 months after delivery, then deleted.
- Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as Italian law requires.
- Server logs: for the short period set by our hosting provider. Anti-spam record: one hour.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. If you choose a language or currency, that choice is saved only in your own browser so the site opens the same way next time. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use these rights, email support@academiclane.com; we reply within one month. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it), or to the authority in your country.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS with strict security headers, the form validates and limits what it accepts, and only the people working on your project can see your files.
